
Polman Bandung Lepas Mahasiswa Peserta Program China–Indonesia Vocational Education Short-Term Training ke Wuhan

On this date, Kurt Furgler, Vice President of the Swiss Confederation, conveyed his appreciation during a visit to the Politeknik Mekanik (PMS) on Friday, 11 April 1980. This visit became a historic milestone, marking the early foundations for the sustainable development of vocational education in Indonesia, particularly in polytechnic education.
Forty-five years later, the legacy of that historic encounter continues to unfold. What began as an institution dedicated primarily to education has progressively broadened its horizons, evolving into a key contributor to the global growth of polytechnic education. This growth has been shaped by continuous technological transformation and strengthened through enduring collaboration with industry, government, and various strategic sectors.

In his letter following an official visit to Polman Bandung in October 2025, Guy Permelin, President of the Swiss Confederation, expressed his deep appreciation for the institution’s development. During the visit, he observed that Polman Bandung has consistently preserved its distinctive character while actively nurturing the growth of manufacturing technology. Looking ahead, he expressed hope that, over the next 50 years, Polman Bandung will continue to lead and emerge as a world-class center of manufacturing excellence and growth.
